Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 30, 2026
Korea Wayfinder (“we”, “us”) is a personal travel blog about Korea, operated by an individual author and available at https://koreawayfinder.com. This policy explains what information the site handles when you visit, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
We do not require accounts and do not ask you for personal information to read the site.
- Usage data. Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure may log basic technical information — IP address, browser type, pages visited, and visit timestamps — for security and performance monitoring.
- Email. If you contact us by email, we receive your address and the contents of your message. We use them only to reply, and we don’t add you to any mailing list.
Cookies
Korea Wayfinder itself does not set cookies that identify you. Cookies may be set by:
- Preferences. A small local-storage value remembers your light/dark theme choice. It never leaves your browser.
- Third-party services described below, which may use cookies to provide their functionality.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site remains fully readable without them.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
We may display ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings.
- Learn how Google uses data from partner sites at google.com/policies/privacy/partners.
- Depending on your region, you may be shown a consent prompt before advertising cookies are used.
Analytics
We may use privacy-conscious analytics to understand which guides are useful (page views, referrers, approximate region). Where Google Analytics is used, IP anonymization is enabled and data is used only in aggregate. We do not sell personal information.
Links to other sites
Guides link to external sites (maps, official tourism pages, booking services). We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices — check their policies when you visit.
Children’s privacy
This site is a general-audience travel blog and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Since we hold almost none, the practical scope is small — but email us and we will help with whatever we do hold (for example, past correspondence).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves (for example, when advertising or analytics tools change). Updates appear on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
